A focus on fundraising

We extend thanks to our wonderful supporters who gave generously during our Christmas Appeal enabling us to meet our fundraising target and raise almost $22,000, which will go towards the work of our wonderful Information and Support Centre. We also thank those of you who helped raise funds via your own organised events during 2015.
A particular acknowledgement of Kerry Pettit who held a successful Variety Concert in Mandurah (WA) and raised $2,000 in memory of her late father. The funds will go towards research into emphysema (COPD).

We begin 2016 with a busy schedule of events and we encourage you to get involved, whether it’s by participating in an event, donating funds to our appeals or volunteering to help us achieve our fundraising goals. Every little bit goes a long way to benefiting our critical research, education and support and advocacy programs.

A call for volunteers

We are now recruiting for a number of tasks/events:

  • Just One Breath Gala Dinner Committee Members – (Monthly meetings, Sydney). We’re looking for those who have great networks and can assist us in planning another outstanding Gala Dinner fundraiser. The committee’s aim is to ensure a successful event and tasks include sourcing raffle prizes and auction items and ticket sales.

Just One Breath Corporate Cycling Challenge

We are excited to announce our inaugural Just One Breath Corporate Cycling Challenge planned for 26 August in Brisbane. The event has been developed as an avenue for Lung Foundation Australia to engage corporate support and raise awareness of the work we do in promoting the importance of lung health for all Australians. It offers our corporate partners and their staff the opportunity to participate in an exciting activity while raising funds to support research into lung health. Unlike traditional cycling events, the Just One Breath Corporate Cycling Challenge offers a unique and safe experience, providing cyclists the opportunity to ride on a classic raceway circuit and not on busy and dangerous public roads. We hope to raise $100,000 which will go directly towards funding vital research. Please share the event with any friends and family who would be interested in taking part. We will keep you updated with further information as plans are confirmed.

If you would like further information on any of the above, please contact our Fundraising Manager Mary Bishop on 02 9222 6204 or maryb@lungfoundation.com.au.
