Professor David Cohen – Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation

Professor David Cohen is the Acting Head of Institute for Environmental Research Scientist and Leader of the Accelerator Science at ANSTO.  David has a BSc(Hons), MSc and PhD in Physics. He joined Australian Institute for Nuclear Science in Engineering (AINSE) in 1976 and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) in 1989 and has nearly 40 years research experience in nuclear and atomic physics, materials science, archaeometry, biology, and environmental studies.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics and the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand and an honorary professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Wollongong.  In November 2009 he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (FTSE).

He has over 225 refereed journal and 435 conference and report publications and is recognised nationally and internationally as an expert in accelerator-based ion beam analysis.
