Health professionals lead the way in World COPD Day activities

COPD_LogoOne in seven Australians 40 years or older has COPD and half of those who have progressed to a stage where they are experiencing symptoms will not know that they have it.[1],[2]

November 19 is World COPD Day and the Lung Foundation will be raising awareness of the prevalence and impact of COPD.

Lung Foundation Australia is encouraging health professionals to get involved by holding their own activity to raise awareness about the symptoms, risk factors and treatment for COPD.

World COPD Day activities taking place around the country include:

  • Catch Your Breath Community Walks
  • FREE lung function screening
  • Static displays/info stands
  • Pharmacy displays and/or activities
  • Organising your own event
