Lung Foundation Australia congratulates David Hayne on his lifetime of achievement award
Carer and pharmacist David Hayne is the latest person to be recognised with a lifetime achievement award by Lung Foundation Australia at the 6th Australian Lung Cancer Conference in Melbourne.
A COPD National Program member and former Lung Foundation Australia Board Member, Mr Hayne joined the organisation as a consumer representative for the COPD Coordinating Committee in 2004.
Representing the many different ways people can interact with the Lung Foundation, lifetime achievement recipients have all made significant contributions to helping people living with lung disease across Australia.
A consultant pharmacist who cared for his wife, Kate, a COPD patient and lung transplant recipient, David was a consistent advocate for practical actions that would benefit those with lung disease.
In 2012, David became the inaugural chair of the Pharmacy Sub Committee of the COPD National Program and oversaw the development of our online training program for pharmacists. As the chair David oversaw the development of first online training program in COPD for pharmacists.
David was appointed to the Lung Foundation Australia Board in 2012 on which he served for three years.
We thank David for the work and significant contributions he has made toward helping people living with lung disease across Australia.
