Lung Foundation Australia partners with A Menarini Australia to offer two new grants
Lung Foundation Australia has partnered with Menarini Australia to help support research into lung disease in Australia.
Two grants are available offering specific opportunities for medical or scientific graduates and health professionals.
1. COPD Research Top-Up Grant – Up to value of $20,000
Lung Foundation Australia/Menarini Australia Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Research Top-Up Grant 2014 supports research to improve the diagnosis and management of COPD in Australia.
The COPD Research Top-Up Grant is available as a once-off payment, to support a current research project that is approaching its final year.
2. European Respiratory Society (ERS) Annual Congress Travel Grants – Up to value of $5,000
Lung Foundation Australia/Menarini Australia ERS 2014 Travel Grant provides key health professionals who work with COPD patients, the opportunity to attend the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Annual Congress in Munich in September 2014.
The travel grant is to support participant costs for attendance at the ERS Annual Congress between 6 and 10 September, 2014 including:
- Return airfares
- Accommodation for the duration of the conference
- Travel costs (e.g. taxis, parking)
- Daily incidentals and meals allowances not to exceed ATO reasonable allowances
- Full registration
Lung Foundation Australia CEO William Darbishire said the grants support the Foundation’s mission to reduce the burden of lung disease for patients, their families, carers and the Australian community.
“Lung disease is a significant and growing health issue with more than six million Australians living with a long-term, ongoing respiratory condition,” Mr Darbishire said.
