Strong evidence for benefits of regular exercise coming to COPD-X Guidelines

The latest update to the COPD-X Plan:  Australian and New Zealand Guidelines for the Management of COPD (COPD-X) will be published in December. The update will include extensive amendments to the sections on physical activity including strong evidence for the benefits of regular exercise in COPD patients. It will also include a discussion on which patient populations are likely to benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation.

COPD-X is the most up-to-date COPD Guidelines in the world; it is updated quarterly by a team of experts who specialise in this field. It is a fully searchable document with a search box at the top right of the screen which enables you to enter your keywords and retrieve a list of the relevant pages that match your search term. For example, if you input ‘pulmonary rehabilitation’ you will be directed to all references to this term that appear in the document. You can also download a complete PDF of COPD-X by completing a short registration process at http://copdx.org.au/account/register-for-pdf/.  Once you are registered with the site, you will automatically be notified by email when an update takes place. The COPD-X website also houses the following COPD resources:
