COPD Patient Advocate Group (CPAG) update

Ian Venamore, Chair, CPAG

Like many of us, I spent some time over the last few weeks reflecting on the year just past and wondering what 2017 will bring; remembering those no longer with us and their valued contribution to us as friends or family, and to the importance of lung health.

I hope the year ahead enables CPAG, which now has representation from all states and territories, to develop real and meaningful gains for those who live with COPD, both patients and carers alike. Whether it is advocating for the provision, improvement or continuation of oxygen therapy; the provision of air quality information; opportunities to help establish rehabilitation or maintenance exercise programs; or simply creating awareness of COPD within our communities, if we all do a little, we can achieve a lot. I look forward to our first meeting on 1 March and a productive year ahead.

If you are a patient or carer from either a metropolitan or a regional area and are interested in becoming part of CPAG, please contact Lung Foundation Australia on 1800 654 301 for further information.

Yours in lung health,
Ian Venamore
