Winter can be a dangerous time for people living with a lung condition. As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout takes centre stage this year, Lung Foundation Australia is urging all Australians to take steps to protect themselves against influenza and other vaccine preventable conditions. An important first step is a conversation with their primary health care team.

In this 1-hour free webinar, Professor Kristine Macartney, Director of the Australian National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS) and Senior Editor of the Australian Immunisation Handbook will present on the importance of updating vaccinations in particular in patients with chronic lung disease and First Nations people. Consequences of under-vaccination, the impact of acute and chronic cycles of infection and recent changes to the National Immunisation Program will also be discussed.

A Q&A session, moderated by Lung Foundation Australia’s Respiratory Care Nurse, Ms. Amanda Curran, RN will address pre-submitted and live audience questions.
