Just One Breath Gala Dinner a Success!
Lung Foundation Australia is thrilled with the success of our second annual Just One Breath Gala Dinner at the Opera Point Marquee in Sydney on Saturday.
Lung Foundation Australia CEO Heather Allan said the evening bought together family, friends, colleagues, representatives of the business community, sponsors and some new faces in support of Lung Foundation Australia.
“Dr Lucy Morgan and her patient David together shared his inspiring story as well as some of the struggles he has overcome living with severe asthma and bronco pulmonary dysplasia,” Mrs Allan said.
“For David, hospital seemed to become a normal part of life. He would turn up at the intensive care unit, suffering increased lung attacks, each visit weighing on him until the ICU almost felt a second home,” she said.
“Thanks to great care and pulmonary rehabilitation exercises, David has worked hard to get himself off the transplant list and to keep himself out of
hospital as much as possible.
“That’s why the support of everyone who joined us for our Gala Dinner was so important – it means we are able to keep supporting people like David.
“Guests bid on the auction items, bought raffle tickets, shared a delicious meal together and danced the night away to the breath taking view of the beautiful Sydney Harbour.
“Thank you to everyone who came along. The evening was a great success and raised more than $50,000 to provide essential services and resources for patients, families, health professionals and everyone affected by lung disease.”
