Shining a light on lung cancer inequities and care

November is International Lung Cancer Awareness Month and we want you to host a Shine a light on lung cancer awareness event this year within your workplace. Our shine a light on lung cancer events bring together survivors, patients, their family and friends, health professionals, clinicians, and researchers as one resilient voice to support more research funding and earlier diagnosis of lung cancer.

This year we are shining a light on the inequalities that exist in lung cancer research funding. You may even be able to localise this message to the need for more research funding within your own hospital or community.

Our Lung Cancer Network Australia website has all the information needed to kick start your event including an event checklist and event ideas click here. We can also provide you shine a light merchandise including t-shirts, torches and awareness pins to support your event.

This year, we are also encouraging you to incorporate fundraising into your shine a light event. To set up a fundraising page, click here. Funds raised will go directly towards facilitating lung cancer research projects in Australia.

Attached is an event checklist to help you get started.  For more information about the Shine a light on lung cancer awareness events, please contact Kerrie Callaghan on or phone 07 3251 3641.
