How Many People Die From Lung Cancer Per Year?

Lung cancer statistics in Australia are concerning. 25 people die of lung cancer every day in Australia; more than 9,000 per year. It’s Australia’s biggest cancer killer, but research is offering more hope.

In recent years, research has driven advances in new treatments which have seen an increase in survival rate and improved quality of life.

We must rally together to shine a light on lung cancer facts and the need for more research. Together we can change these statistics and give hope to families impacted by lung cancer.

How many people die from lung cancer every year? Well, this is a very confronting statistic for me as a person living with lung cancer because twenty-five of us lung cancer patients die every day in Australia. That’s over nine thousand of us each year.

Lung cancer is actually the biggest cancer killer in Australia. But there is hope, and that hope comes through research. In recent times, research has provided advances in treatments that really have extended our life expectancy and also improved the quality of life when you’re living with lung cancer. So together, we really do need to shine a light on lung cancer and the need for further research because we can beat this, and we can achieve better outcomes if we work together.
