We’ve identified 5 key areas (or pillars) that can help you and the person you support manage, based on what people with silicosis, their families, and health experts say matters most. These areas form part of My silicosis management plan developed by Lung Foundation Australia.

Through this checklist, you’ll be guided through these 5 areas and can choose what’s most important to you right now. Based on your answers, you’ll receive tailored information and advice, so you can focus on what matters most for you and the person you support with silicosis.

Lifestyle and general health

For the person you support, looking after their health and lifestyle plays an important role in managing silicosis and protecting lung health. Learn about maintaining a balanced diet, staying active, getting enough sleep; quitting smoking or vaping; and remaining up to date with vaccinations.

Physical activity
