Submissions
We work with consumers, health professionals, researchers, and likeminded organisations to respond to government consultations, inquiries, and invited feedback on a range of topics. As the peak body on lung health, the Australian Government request our evidence-based and consumer-informed advice on related health policy and programs. We make over 50 submissions every year – these are some of our key recent submissions:
We also make submissions to the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) to advocate for timely and equitable access to medicines, health services and technologies for people living with lung disease and to vaccines that protect the lung health of all Australians. MSAC and PBAC make recommendations to the Federal Government on medicines that should be subsidised under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), vaccines that should be free under the National Immunisation Program (NIP), and health services and technologies that should be free under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS). Learn more about how you can get involved in the MSAC/PBAC process here.
