In honour of World Lung Cancer Day, we look forward to presenting this webinar to share both the lived experiences of patients on the lung cancer journey as well as insights from clinical experts in the field. Our panellists are strong advocates for supporting those living with lung cancer and their pathway through care. 

You will have the opportunity to submit questions to the speakers upon registration and during the live presentation.

Meet our panellists:

Stacey Allerton, QLD (patient host) 

  • Stacey has been living with Stage 4 NSCLC since February 2023. Stacey lives in Brisbane and works in the community services sector. She is an active member of Lung Foundation Australia’s peer support groups and supports others with her lived experience.

Anne Fidler, QLD 

  • Anne is a wife, a mum and a proud grandmother. She was diagnosed incidentally in October 2020 with stage 2b lung cancer after a CT scan for an unrelated matter. She went through chemotherapy and surgery only to be told that her diagnosis was actually stage 3a which meant Anne began the journey of radiation. Anne hopes that patients diagnosed in the future are better supported and informed. 

Janene Shelton, QLD 

Janene is a cancer care coordinator at the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service. She has been an oncology nurse for over 12 years and specialising in lung cancer for the past 3 years. She currently works at Toowoomba Hospital, and is passionate about providing support, coordination of care and advocacy for people living with cancer. 

Kelli Brittain, QLD 

  • Kelli is a clinical nurse consultant (cancer care coordinator) at the Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital Cancer Care Services. Her role covers lung cancer, genitourinary cancers and sarcoma. She enjoys the diversity of patients and treatments in lung cancer. Kelli is passionate about empowering patients and establishing a connection beyond the cancer to best support them on their journey. 

Laura Goode, SA 

  • Laura is a Specialist Lung Cancer Nurse and Respiratory Nurse Consultant who practices at the Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH) in Adelaide. She has extensive experience working within the Respiratory discipline across multiple clinical nursing roles. Laura is passionate about caring for patients with Lung Cancer and their families, and she also has a significant interest in research.
