Join us on 27 August for an ANZ-LCNF webinar presented by Paula Nelson, Thoracic Liaison Nurse, exploring Neoadjuvant Therapy in Lung Cancer: Where Are We Now?
Neoadjuvant therapy continues to play an evolving role in lung cancer care, with growing relevance across multidisciplinary treatment planning, surgical pathways, patient preparation and supportive care. As treatment options continue to develop, it is important for nurses and other health professionals to understand where this approach sits within current pathways and what it means for patients.
This webinar will provide an engaging overview of neoadjuvant approaches in lung cancer, including how they are being used in practice and translating into real world care. Drawing on practical insights from the clinical setting, Paula will discuss patient experiences of treatment, including common questions, concerns and challenges that may arise before, during and after therapy.
The session will also focus on the important role nurses play. This includes supporting patients and families, coordinating care, helping patients understand treatment plans and symptom burden, monitoring progress, managing communication between services and supporting follow up care. Paula will also explore some of the practical challenges involved, particularly when treatment timelines are complex and patients are moving between different teams and services.
In addition, the webinar will highlight approaches to patient tracking, data collection and monitoring, and how these processes can support safe, timely and coordinated care.
This session will be a valuable opportunity for ANZ-LCNF members to build their understanding of neoadjuvant therapy, reflect on the patient experience, and consider how nurses can continue to provide optimal care for patients receiving treatment.
We warmly encourage all ANZ-LCNF members to register and join us for this informative discussion.
