One-pager of the lung cancer Blueprint  3.0

This one-page infographic provides a concise and accessible overview of Lung Foundation Australia’s third national lung cancer Blueprint, Time to take the next step: delivering equitable lung cancer reform in Australia, outlining the key priorities and urgent actions required to drive equitable lung cancer reform across Australia. Developed to support advocacy, policy development and system improvement, the infographic distils the Blueprint’s recommendations into a clear and engaging format for a broad audience. 

The Blueprint identifies six priority reform areas that are critical to improving outcomes for people affected by lung cancer and reducing inequities across the care continuum: 

1. Promote lung health for all Australians 

2. Close the gap for First Nations peoples 

3. End harm from tobacco 

4. Strengthen the National Lung Cancer Screening Program 

5. Better support people living with lung cancer and their carers 

6. Invest in research and innovation 

Together, these reform areas provide a roadmap for improving prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, supportive care and survivorship outcomes. The Blueprint recognises that while significant progress has been made in lung cancer care, many Australians continue to face barriers to timely and high-quality services based on where they live, their cultural background, socioeconomic circumstances, or other factors beyond their control. 

Designed as a practical and easy-to-read reference, the infographic highlights the actions needed to create a more equitable and effective lung cancer system. It reinforces the importance of collaboration across governments, healthcare providers, researchers, community organisations and consumers to ensure all Australians have access to the care and support they need, when and where they need it.
