The evidence is clear: Exercise is one of the most effective nonpharmacological tools we have in the prevention, management and quality of life improvement in all lung conditions. But what about Long COVID?
The World Health Organization Clinical Management of COVID-19: Living guidelines (Updated January 2023) include 16 new recommendations around rehabilitation for adults living with Long COVID, including clear guidance around avoiding exercise interventions in people experiencing post-exertional symptom exacerbation or post-exertional malaise. In this one-hour virtual learning event, hear from our panel of lived experience and clinical experts on the most up-to-date evidence, guidelines and considerations in the exercise and rehabilitation needs of those living with long COVID.
Ask the panel your questions at registration, or live during the extended Q&A session.
Learning outcomes:
- Identify persistent symptoms of Long COVID and the risk factors for developing Long COVID
- Describe how to assess rehabilitation needs of patients with Long COVID
- Describe how to manage exercise limitations in patients with Long COVID
- Discuss considerations to exercise prescription in patients with Long COVID
