Participate in research

Living with lung disease or lung cancer brings unique challenges, and we understand you and your loved ones are seeking every possible path to improved outcomes. At Lung Foundation Australia, we believe that real progress in lung health is made when it's shaped by the very people it aims to help. That's why we're so passionate about connecting you with research opportunities.

Why your participation in research matters

Your insights, and your experiences are invaluable. By participating in research, you directly contribute to a future where lung disease and lung cancer are better understood, diagnosed, treated, and supported. Whether you’re living with a lung disease or caring for someone who is, your involvement can make a profound difference.

There are many ways to get involved, and each plays a vital role. You could:

  • Join a clinical trial exploring new treatments.
  • Share your experiences through surveys or focus groups.
  • Become a consumer advisor, helping guide research from the inside.

Every contribution, big or small, helps pave the way for better lung health for all Australians.

Current research opportunities

It’s important to ensure any research opportunity is the right fit for you or your loved one. When considering participation, always take the time to evaluate if it aligns with your needs and comfort.

For comprehensive information about participating in clinical trials, including how to find trials listed in the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (ANZCTR), we recommend visiting Australian Clinical Trials website.

Where possible, we try to feature new research opportunities for your consideration.. Please check back here regularly, as we’ll list new research projects as they become available.
