The COPD-X Handbook provides a summary of the key evidence-based recommendations from the COPD-X Plan.
Like earlier versions of the COPD-X Handbook (previously titled the COPD-X Concise Guide), this resource addresses the five key areas of clinical practice for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Australia.
- Case finding and confirming diagnosis
- Optimising function
- Preventing deterioration
- Developing a plan of care
- Manage eXacerbations.
Unlike its predecessors, this practical point-of-care resource is organised according to 13 clinical questions in an easy-to-navigate, mobile-friendly format. Practice points and additional supporting information links have been thoroughly reviewed and updated, to accommodate easy guideline implementation for those in the primary care, specialist, and hospital settings.
Printed hard copies will be made available as part of Lung Foundation Australia’s World COPD Day celebrations on Wednesday 20 November 2024. Printed COPD-X Handbooks will be free of charge, but supplies are limited.
