CPD-accredited training for health professionals
This module explores the role of GPs in the ongoing management of people with silicosis, including monitoring, symptom management and coordinating care with other health professionals. GPs will learn how the My Silicosis Management Plan (MSMP) can be used to support patient-centred care, guide management and facilitate communication across the healthcare team.
Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the GP’s role in providing person-centred, long-term management for people living with silicosis using the My Silicosis Management Plan.
- Develop an individualised management plan that addresses symptom management, physical and mental health, lifestyle modification, multidisciplinary care, return to work, and workers’ compensation considerations.
- Outline ongoing care by facilitating appropriate referrals, supporting self-management, and monitoring patients over time to optimise health and quality of life.
This training is accredited with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for one hour of Educational Activity. Â
