Lungs in Action Refresher and CPD Learning Package Overview

Welcome to Lungs in Action reaccreditation learning hub which is part of the refresher and CPD learning package learning package. The learning package was codesigned with existing instructors to meet the needs of our Lungs in Action community. The training contains four key components, and each component has a minimum requirement specification to achieve refresher and CPD learning package.

Course Aims

The aim of this learning package is to provide existing Lungs in Action instructors the opportunity to;

  • Rreview topics covered in the initial Lungs in Action theory training
  • Ask scenario-based questions to an expert clinical panel
  • Learn about emerging evidence in exercise rehabilitation for participants with chronic lung or cardiac disease
  • Provide on-going clinical support and referrals into your program.

Online Hub

As part of this learning package, you receive access to this online information hub that contains resources related to exercise rehabilitation. Webinars, media articles, meeting recordings, news stories and journal articles will be accessible to you via this hub.

Local pulmonary and cardiac mentor

If you don’t have an existing relationship with a local pulmonary or cardiac rehabilitation service, LFA can help connect you. A reciprocal referral relationship with a local mentor, will provide you with a source of ongoing referrals into your class and the opportunity to refer participants back into their program if you feel their condition has deteriorated.

Annual expert panel information session

A panel of multidisciplinary clinical experts will facilitate an annual online information session, covering the latest advice and developments impacting exercise rehabilitation. You will have the opportunity to select a topic of interest to tailor the session to your experiences.

Interactive questions and answers session

An interactive Q&A session will follow on from the information session, providing an opportunity for you to ask scenario-based questions. This is a great opportunity to seek expert advice on any clinical questions you may have or learn new techniques to safely exercise with your participants. The session will be held annually, and you are invited to provide suggestions of topics you would like to see covered.

As part of this training package, you will receive access to this online information hub that will contain resources impacting exercise rehabilitation. Webinars, media articles, meeting recordings, news stories, journal articles will be made available. The hub will be updated on an on-going basis and instructors are encouraged to submit content to share with their peers.
