“My work is centred on the challenges of regular exercise and physical activity for people with COPD. Our knowledge about the magnitude of the problem and the promise of potential benefits from participation currently outweigh our understanding of how to help people make changes in their everyday life.

Lung Foundation Australia’s funding assisted in the completion of a Cochrane systematic review looking at interventions to increase physical activity in people with COPD, and enabled me to travel to the American Thoracic Society International Conference in May 2018 to present and discuss our findings with attendees with expertise from around the world.

By informing health care professionals regarding the most effective strategies to use with the people they see every day, we hope to maximise the health benefits for people with COPD around the world.
It is only through the support offered to the Lung Foundation Australia that this work was made possible.”
