A respiratory nurse is often your go-to for clinical information and self-management support to help you to live well during your journey living with a lung condition. Meredith Lores lives with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and knows firsthand the benefit of having access to a respiratory nurse. “I’ve been extremely fortunate to have regular access to a specialist nurse through my General Practice. I can ask her anything and if she doesn’t have the answer, she will find out for me,” Meredith said.
“I’ve laughed and cried with her and just knowing that she is there in a supportive way means the world to me. Access to a compassionate, supportive Lung Nurse via the freecall Information and Support Centre will help patients like me to manage their lung disease and lead to a better quality of life.”
This year, Lung Foundation Australia’s annual Christmas Appeal will kick start our exiting new community fundraising campaign to raise $100,000 to employ a Lung Nurse via our freecall Information and Support Centre. If you would like to get involved to support our Lung Nurse campaign, please contact 1800 654 301. Together we can make this nurse service a reality.
