Understanding is rare, lung disease is not.
One third of Australians believe those with lung disease have only themselves to blame, while one in ten will say they got what they deserved. This lack of empathy severely affects the level of funding, treatment and support available. Help us raise awareness to support those affected by getting involved this November, including:
International Lung Cancer Awareness Month
Host or attend a Shine a Light on Lung Cancer event in support of lung cancer research. These local community events bring together patients, their family and friends, health professionals, clinicians, and researchers as one resilient voice in support of more research funding and earlier diagnosis of lung cancer.
World COPD Day, 15 November 2017
Host or attend a World COPD Day event to help raise awareness about the symptoms, risks and treatment of COPD. Check out the range of activities already registered by our patient and health professional communities around Australia at worldcopdday.lungfoundation.com.au.
Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month
Help us to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). Lung Foundation Australia is raising awareness at Indooroopilly shopping centre in Brisbane on 23 November.
Get involved
Help break down stereotypes and let Australians with lung disease know they matter too.
