This interactive online event, co-hosted by Lung Foundation Australia’s Chair Professor Lucy Morgan, will connect you with a panel of expert clinicians to ask the questions that concern you, including:

  • Being battle fit – lifestyle considerations, fitness, airway clearance, knowing your baseline
  • Recognising invaders – respiratory viruses
  • Re-grouping when you’re surrounded – recognising exacerbations, treatments
  • Putting up your best fight – mental health and wellbeing, peer support.

We encourage you to submit any other questions that you would like the panel to answer on the day through the registration link.

Grant Raja 

Grant has lived with bronchiectasis since age 12 and takes an active and wholistic approach to managing his lung health. In addition to working full-time, Grant enjoys cycling, volunteering as a Scout Leader, and spending time with his family.  

Panel:

Professor Lucy Morgan 

Professor Lucy Morgan has dedicated her career to improving the lives of Australians impacted by lung disease. Lucy is a Respiratory Physician in Sydney with clinical roles at Concord Hospital, Nepean Hospital and Macquarie University Private Hospital. Her clinical practice covers a wide range of lung problems including bronchiectasis. Lung Foundation Australia is fortunate to have Prof Morgan as the Chair of the Board and is grateful for the contribution she makes to the Lung Foundation community. 

Dr Vikas Goyal 

Dr Vikas Goyal is a Respiratory & Sleep Physician at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. His PhD on various aspects of bronchiectasis in children included two world’s first international multi-centre randomised controlled trials relating to the management of exacerbations. He is a researcher with AusBREATHE (Australian Bronchiectasis Centre of Research Excellence esp. for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children) and Queensland Advancing Clinical Research Early career Fellow. 

Dr Annemarie Lee  

Dr Annemarie Lee is an experienced cardiorespiratory physiotherapist and researcher. Her research program has focused on physiotherapy for bronchiectasis and examining the prevalence and clinical impact of comorbidities in chronic respiratory conditions. Annemarie co-developed the Bronchiectasis Toolbox and Strong Lungs websites, resources for health professionals for the management of people with bronchiectasis, including First Nations Australians. 

Estelle McEncroe 

Estelle has lived with bronchiectasis since early childhood, tackling repeat infections and resistance to medication throughout her life. She says the key to managing her bronchiectasis is to keep active. Estelle lives on the Gold Coast and loves sailing, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
