In July, Lung Foundation Australia major supporter, David Wilson, passed away. David, who lived with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), understood the desperate state of available therapies. He was, therefore, passionate about supporting research into improving outcomes for those with IPF. Through his generous support and that of the Wilson family, the David Wilson PhD scholarship in IPF was launched in 2016 with funding to support six PhDs over 15 years. This important legacy will help attract promising young researchers into this area of need. The Lung Foundation is grateful for his contribution and he will be greatly missed.
