Peer Connect

Lung Foundation Australia has developed a peer to peer matching program connecting people with a similar lived experience of lung disease. Peer Connect provides the opportunity for two people to share their experiences with someone who ‘gets it,’ and provide each other with a listening ear, and encouragement.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Peer Connect Service

It can make all the difference to connect with someone else who has the same condition – someone who has insight into what you are going through, especially if you have a rare lung disease where there may be limited opportunities to connect with others.

To address this need, we offer a telephone based peer to peer matching service for people affected by Pulmonary Fibrosis or Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The service matches eligible people to other people in a similar situation, via phone or email.

For more information and to join Peer Connect, complete the expression of interest form.

What is a Primary Peer?

A Primary Peer initiates the first phone call with their Secondary Peer once a match is accepted. They share their own personal experiences including how they manage living with their condition.

What is a Secondary Peer?

A Secondary Peer is matched with a Primary Peer to receive support and encouragement, but also shares their own experiences to ensure the match is mutually supportive.
