Lung Foundation Australia understands that it is not always possible for people to participate in face-to-face support groups. Our online support network provides the opportunity for people across the country to participate in a support group, from the comfort of their own home and when it is convenient for them.
How does an online support group run?
Online groups run similarly to our face-to-face groups but use the online network functions such as video chat conferencing and online messaging to communicate with each other. All members of the network create their own profile so they can learn more about members in their group.
Online groups can:
- Hold video chat meetings for focussed discussions
- Invite healthcare professionals to guest present at meetings
- Ask questions and create polls or surveys
- Share and upload helpful resources.
